Amuitz Garmendia

I am a political scientist working as an associate professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Carlos III University. I am also the academic secretary of the Carlos III – Juan March Institute (IC3JM). Prior to my arrival at UC3M, I was a Max Weber fellow in the European University Institute, where I arrived after graduating from Binghamton University (SUNY). My research interests are in the area of comparative political economy with a specific focus on federalism and decentralization. I am particularly interested in the way in which institutionalized territorial boundaries and authority shapes politics in countries around the world. My research has been published in Regional Studies, West European Politics, or Electoral Studies, among others.
